Project: 27 m span steel cycle bridge

Key Elements: Designed and fabricated to cross a 27 m creek bed, with abutment design, protective coatings and site installation

Project Details

DWW Engineering designed, fabricated and installed a 27 m x 2.5 m steel cycle bridge for Forest Pines. The bridge spans a 27 m-wide creek bed and provides a dedicated crossing for pedestrian and cycle traffic.

The structure used DWW’s Warren Truss design with timber decking and bolted balustrade panels. Our scope included RPEQ certification, abutment design, detailed fabrication workshop drawings, protective coating, delivery and crane installation. The main steelwork received a painted finish, while the balustrades and handrails were hot dip galvanised for added corrosion protection.
