Efficiency Underground: Delivering Excellence for Evolution Mining

DWW Engineering has delivered mining grizzly fabrication for Evolution Mining since 2019, manufacturing complete grizzly assemblies for the Ernest Henry Mine. To date, the program has included 17 units supplied as ready-to-assemble packages, helping streamline site installation and reduce delays underground.

Each grizzly is trial assembled in DWW’s workshop before delivery, allowing our team to verify fit-up, fasteners and component alignment before the unit reaches site. This reduces the risk of assembly issues in the underground mining environment, where rectification can be difficult and disruptive.

The project has also required practical design changes to suit site conditions. In one instance, the rails in the original design were too small for the intended concrete load. DWW worked with the client to revise the substructure and incorporate larger, readily available rail sections while maintaining the required durability and performance.
