DWW Engineering recently delivered twelve sets of blast shields designed to wrap around a transformer and help contain shrapnel in the event of a failure. This solution was implemented as a temporary safety measure while replacement transformers were being scheduled.
Each blast shield set was fabricated to exact specifications, based on client supplied drawings, with a fast turnaround required from the outset. DWW Engineering coordinated closely with suppliers to meet the timeframe and organised delivery of the completed tanks to the substation site. The entire project was completed in a mere three weeks, including galvanising.
