Root Cause Analysis Work for Transformers

Project: Workshop support for substation    transformer root cause analysis

Key Elements: Heavy component handling,      controlled casing removal and safe access for    specialist inspection

transformer in steel fab workshop

Project Details

DWW Engineering supported a specialist investigation into failures affecting several substation transformers. Acting as a steel infrastructure fabricator with experience across power and transmission projects, our team provided the workshop capability and heavy fabrication equipment required to safely open the failed transformer units.

The transformer casings were carefully cut to allow specialist teams to access the internal components and complete detailed root cause analysis. Due to the size and complex construction of the units, the work required controlled handling, precision cutting and close coordination to maintain a safe workshop process.

This project demonstrates DWW’s ability to support clients with both new steel fabrication and specialised works for critical power infrastructure.
